Similarly to many affected people due to the crisis, Mohammad “Abo Khaled”, 54 years old, fled his house in Al-Khalidiya, so he lost his house and his job. After that, his leg was wounded by a fragment; the thing which forced doctors to amputate it.
One day, he heard about SARC-Homs artificial limbs team and asked help. The team provided him with a new artificial limb and with physical and psychological rehabilitation.
After that, he was invited to attend a meeting about livelihood projects.
Through the livelihood project for those who returned to Homs Old City, SARC-Homs livelihood team provided Mohammad with the equipment to resume his old job, which is “Maintenance of Electronic Equipment”.
He says happily, “I returned to my job and improved my income. Thanks SARC. God bless your efforts.”
It is worth mentioning that the artificial limbs project and livelihood project are supported by ICRC.
