Supported by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and in cooperation with UNICEF, The Syrian Arab Red Crescent held a workshop on Information Management (IM) and Reporting. The four day workshop started on July 29th, 2015 and brought 24 employees and volunteers from all fourteen SARC branches in Syria.
The workshop is highly important for IM staff capacity building as it empowers them in areas of reports editing, data analysis and visualization and in presenting it in a professional way. This will facilitate supervision and a follow up process by managers who will then be able to fulfill the requests of partners and donors. Therefore, the workshop topics are concentrated on the information as a concept and how to put it into useful numbers.
The participants also stressed the importance of the theoretical and practical applications of the workshop and its positive impact on their work. “The acquired information will facilitate our daily work and will allow us to show it properly” said Dima Bustani, SARC IM staff in Aleppo branch. Other participants described it as highly convenient as it polished their skills in data comparison, analyzing, visualizing and turn it into facts mirroring the real humanitarian situation” said Yaser Eilo, SARC IM staff in Al-Hasakeh branch.
