A delegation of UNHCR and volunteers of SARC AL Kiswah Sub Branch visited “Beit Al-Moutasweleen” shelter for the Africans refugees in AL Kiswah area in 2/3/2016. The visit aimed to check the life situations in the shelter, the needs for the residing families, identify the problems they face and solve it. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent through his long career always keen to help vulnerable groups of displaced people, and provides them with necessary supplies and adequate shelter, which restores their dignity.
UNHCR delegation along with SARC Rural Damascus Branch team visited Adra school shelter on Monday 7/3/2016. The delegation checked the stores and how they deliver aid materials for the arrivals to the shelter. SARC’s Al Dumair Sub Branch secured basic materials for the people who have flocked since the mid of last month. It is noteworthy that the shelter receives 250 persons daily, who stay temporarily there, and supports them with the basic materials which contained (1122 canned food, 5250 meals, 505 mattress, 3065 blankets, 478 hygiene baskets) and other necessary materials.
Health team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Quneitra branch distributed hygiene kits for people special needs. The kits included diapers for olds and Hygiene parcels provided by UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and International Committee of Red Cross(ICRC). The team reached 40 beneficiaries during the last week of January 2016 in AlKoom, AlBaath City and Iuba areas.
The volunteers of SARC Rural Damascus Branch distributed relief items in AL Mleha area. They had assessed the needs of affected families before and then provided them with the needed materials on Monday 25/1/2016. These materials were distributed for 262 families and included (262 food baskets-262 hygiene baskets-741 blankets-177 waterproofs-100 kitchen baskets-98 mats-44 baby diapers). The distribution process will be done periodically for families who live in AL Mleha area.
Psycho-social support team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Quneitra branch distributed women’s hygiene materials provided by UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The team reached 769 beneficiaries during January 2016 in Jaba, Al Mshaa, Khan Arnabeh, Al Jweza, Nabaa AlFwar, Ain AlNwrea, Al Koom and Al Baath City.
