A tragic accident at thirteen stole Yazan’s right foot and the simple joys of playing football with friends.
The pain of amputation and the limitations it imposed were a heavy burden for him and his family.
However, Yazan’s spirit remained unbroken.
Hope arrived through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent‘s volunteers. who provided physical therapy at home in Daraa, preparing Yazan for a prosthetic limb.
He received training and support at SARC center in Shebaa in Rural Damascus, gradually regaining his confidence and mobility. Although growth necessitated a new prosthetic after a year, it was a minor hurdle on his path to a limitless future.
Today, Yazan walks tall, not just because of his new limb but his unwavering spirit.
School is no longer a struggle, but a place of learning and connection.
Now he can get back on the field and enjoy activities like he used to, like riding his bike and playing football with his friends.
Yazan’s laughter fills his home once more.
