Raising awareness of health promotion is an essential aspect of the work of the health team and the psycho-social support team at SARC – Swaida Branch. Therefore, the team held health awareness and health education sessions on lice infection ( symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention) for parents in Kamel Srewi School in Ateel village and Fozi Mezher School in Swaida City. Volunteers distributed 235 shampoo bottles and brochures on how to maintain personal hygiene.
Psycho-social Support Team of Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Al boteha sub branch concluded a knitting course on 28/12/2016. The course, which started on 15/11/2016, targeted 29 mothers in Al wafdeen camp shelters(Mohamad Fandi- Al boteha1). The team taught them how to weave wool and make winter clothes. Psychosocial Support Team always seeks to enhance mothers’ confidence and help them to be self dependent persons.
Qunaitra psycho-social support team of Syrian Arab Red Crescent organized a psycho-social activity in Alwafdeen camp under ( Eid and Laughter ) title. 127 children (4 – 17) years old participated in the activity which aimed to draw a #smile on children faces and make them happy though of the pressing circumstances. The day ended with distributing presents and butter nuts to the children.
Psycho social support team Of Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Quneitra branch made a cooking Activity with mothers in Alboteha shelter, 30 mother joined this activity where 50 families got benefit from these meals. This activity is coming with mother’s rehabilitation plan in Alwafdeen camp shelters which aimed to teach mothers new skills, and help them to get along with each others.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent Quneitra branch concluded on Saturday, 30.07.2016 a training course in the principles of psychosocial support. The course lasted for four days between 27-30 / 7/2016 with 29 volunteers attending. Topics of lectures were about : initial psychological ambulance, contact support, peer support, crisis and psychological support, stress and adaptation, grief and loss as well as psychological support based on local community. The lectures also included training activities.
