On 9/11/2018 the winter carnival organised by the #HSP-SARC funded by UNHCR Syria for the children of Qutaifeh, took place at the closed stadium of the city. The children gathered at the community center, than the train transported them with the volunteers to the stadium .Many kid- friendly activities were included such as: bowling, mini golf, fishing, darts, face-painting also a picture booth was available for the children. The event ended with a group dance and toy favors were given to the children.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent held a workshop regarding projects management in humanitarian organizations on 4-8/11/2018. It was organized to enhance the management skills of the water and construction staff. The workshop, participated by 15 employees and volunteers, included advanced training on active management technics, as well as the implementation of these technics in the engineering projects carried out by the water and construction department. It is worth mentioning that this workshop was supported by ICRC and carried out in cooperation with Venture International Training Company.
The Medical Services Department-First Aid in the Syrian Arab Red Crescent organized a central training course to rehabilitate first aid trainers on 1-12/11/2018 in Banias camp. The course was supervised by 11 trainers and attended by 37 paramedics from all SARC’s branches in Syria. It included educational sessions about the first aid training methods, planning and evaluating training courses and communication tools (verbal and non-verbal). The Syrian Arab Red Crescent represented by Eng. Khaled Eriksoussi, the Secretary General, and Dr. Ziad Msallati, Senior Advisor for External Affairs Management, participates in the 10th Asia Pacific Regional Conference held in Manila, Philippines on 11-14/11/2018. During the conference, Eng. Khaled Eriksoussi stressed the importance of the services provided by SARC, especially the livelihood project for their long-term impact. “Via livelihood projects, SARC seeks to help returnees to regain their livelihood and to have a normal life.” He said.
SARC has established a new aid distribution center in Al-Shaddadi area in Hassakeh in order to alleviate pressure on Al-Kallaseh distribution center and to ease access to relief aid for people in southern Hassakeh. The new center will support people in Al-Shaddadi, Al-Areeshah, Al-Markadeh, as well as people from the mentioned areas but accommodating in Hassakeh city. The center is located to the west of Al-Matar neighborhood and close to Shtou bakery in the commercial souk area.
