Full of energy and enthusiasm, Leen (19 Y) showed splendid brilliance at hairstyle workshop launched by SARC’s community center and supported by Danish Red Cross in Idleb branch. “I have joined the workshop because I need to attain a self-fulfillment and play an active role in my community.” Leen said.
SARC dispatched a humanitarian aid convoy (15 trucks) loaded with 2050 food parcels and 2050 flour bags provided by WFP to 8 areas in Daraa (Al-Mataiah, Nada, Smad, Samj, Ticia, Al-Smaqiat, Al-Aman farm and Abo-Katoulah) on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.
Having received an invitation from the Japanese Red Cross, a delegation from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, headed by SARC’s President Engineer Khaled Hboubati, visited Tokyo. During the visit, Engineer Khaled Hboubati met the Vice President of the Japanese Red Cross, Mr. Yoshiharu Otsuka, where he discussed the services provided by the SARC organization and its key humanitarian role amidst the difficult challenges in Syria during the Crisis. Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers distributed relief items to the families in Eastern Ghouta. The items contained mattresses, blankets, food parcels, hygiene kits, lamps, water gallons and fans to more than 3850 families in Htetat Al Turkman and Deir Al Asafir villages. These items were provided by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and UNICEF.
SARC- Al Nabek sub-branch organized first aid course for 30 volunteers to enhance their ability in emergency responses. The course lasted for three days and involved many subjects regarding first aid such as handling wounds, bleedings, fractures and burns, and proper acting steps. This training prepares the volunteers to provide emergency assistance and alleviate the impact of accidents and crises.
