Many stories end today with the conclusion of eight months campaign which was launched by SARC volunteers last May in Rural Damascus. SARC hygiene promotion team in Rural Damascus organized a campaign in October 2017. The campaign was launched in (Al Hijana, Al Barka and Tishreen Station) areas, and aimed to shed light to various topics related to hygiene habits like washing hands, lice avoidance and treatment and hygiene personal care. It is planned to target mothers and children and to support them with the anti-lice shampoo provided by Adra organization. It is worth mentioning that up till now the campaign has reached 4215.
Abu Ibrahim (70 years) and his neighbor Um Ghassan (68 years) are heading to the mobile clinic that visits their town every week. They both suffer hypertension. Um Ghassan says: “It is normal to have hypertension after I lost three beloveds of my family” The Mobile Clinic provided them and 55 others with medicines in Al Ghezlania town on 28 November 2017, where four #SARC Mobile clinics visit 20 areas in Rural Damascus to secure health care and medical services supported by IFRC. 3478 cases received the necessary treatment during November. The cases varied between chronic diseases, hypertension, diabetes, asthma and respiratory infections.
