Joyful day with children

Psycho-social support team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Damascus countryside Branch and in coordination with the Danish Red Cross  joined   the school’s children in each of Kfir Yaboos and Hosh Bjd area. The aimed to celebrate the day of success with the children, and provided entertainment on this joyful day. The team played music and the presented gifts to about 750 children.

Health and Relief Needs Assessment in Bluedan Area

Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Damascus and Rural Damascus conducted a comprehensive assessment of Bluedan area  in May 25th,2015. The assessment process covered the health situation and relief need of the affected people there. The assessment also included the water system, sanitation, sewage and waste.

Dr. Hazem Bakleh Represents SARC Organization in the 68th World Health Assembly 2015

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent participated in the 68th World Health Assembly 2015 that held on May 18- 26, 2015 in Geneva. Dr. Hazem Bakleh, MD, Director of Medical Services of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, attended the assembly as SARC’ representative, and  lit a candle in memorial for fallen health workers who lost their lives for others to live. The International Committee of the Red Cross on a Visit to SARC’s Al-Zahera Centre in Damascus

Ms. Myrian Ghasser, Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and her deputy, Mrs. Beatrice Oechsli, paid a briefing visit to Al-Zahera center and the Disaster Management Unit -operational response center of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent on 19/05/2015. The visit, which comes in the mutual cooperation framework between the ICRC and SARC, was accompanied by Mr. Tammam Mehrez, Head of Disaster Management Unit, and Ms. Razan Jaradeh, Head of First Aid Teams. Relief aid Items reached Al-Waer neighborhood

SARC Homs and in collaboration with the ICRC delivered an aid convoy to operating charities in Al Waer neighborhood on Thursday. The convoy contained 25 trucks loaded with food and non-food items , This mission started on  May 20th 2015. The items were offered by the ICRC, and contained (food parcels, hygiene kits, mattresses, candles, sleeping mats and school bags). More than 15.000 families will be benefited from these aids for a month.
