On the eve of May 15th 2015, the Disaster Management Committee Teams of SARC- Homs branch rushed to Ghazalah village, that located on Homs- Palmyra road, in order to respond to 234 people who were forced out of their homes in Palmyra to the mentioned village due to the recently strained situation. The displaced families took farms as shelters and were terribly in dire need for basics of livelihood. SARC Homs-Al-Rrastan sub branch fixed and reactivated bakeries that stopped for a while in AL-Rrastan area in order to produce bread and distribute it to beneficiaries due to the current lack of bread crisis. The bakeries were reactivated as relief aids arrived into that area. Last week and on April 21st , SARC Homs branch delivered the third and the final relief convoys to Arrastan, Tel Amerie, Akrad ddassniy and Kafr Nan. Health care team in Aleppo branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent succeeded to deliver 12800 lice treatment shampoo to eastern part of Aleppo city through Bustan al-Qasr – al-Masharqa Humanitarian Crossing Points. The International Committee of Red Cross supported those bottles of shampoo which would be distributed by health care and hygiene promotion teams to 23 centers in the mentioned area.
Hand in hand with the continuous assessments conducted by sheltering team in SARC – Aleppo branch, the team carried out maintenance works to some affected houses in Al-Ram Street in al-Sulaimaniya area. The works involved repairing windows and doors that were damaged. This work will make houses safer and with better resistance to the weather changes. Such work is done by the team in responce to people’s applications and after carrying out a full assessment.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Aleppo branch’s field intervention and health care teams delivered 400 boxes of lice treatment shampoo, that supported by the International Committee of Red Cross, and 6000 insulin vials through Bustan al-Masharqa Humanitarian Crossing Points. These aids will b e distributed to people in need in Aleppo city and countryside. Health care team also delivered routine vaccines to health centers in al-Maadi, Saif al-Dawla and Bustan al-Qasr areas.
