The Psycho-social Support Mobile Teams of SARC’s Aleppo branch continue crossing Bustan al-Qasr al-Masharqa humanitarian crossing point in order to distribute winter clothes to the whole city of Aleppo. Today, 21 February 2015, PSS mobile teams distributed clothes with a support from DRC to 320 students in Yosuf al-Athma School in the eastern part of Aleppo.
On 24 February 2015, Dr. Abdul Rahman Attar, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, welcomed French Parliamentary Delegation during their recent visit to Syria. Dr. Attar accompanied the delegation on a visit to SARC’s health centre in Damascus that receives 1500 patients on a daily basis. After that they paid a visit to the disaster management and first aid operations centres in Zahira, where they met with staff and volunteers from SARC and was briefed about the activities and services delivered by SARC. Yesterday, 23 February 2015, Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Aleppo intervention field and health care teams delivered 3000 bottles of benzyl benzoate to SARC’s warehouse in Jisr al-Haj. The WHO supported these medications and SARC volunteers delivered them through Bustan AlQasr AlMasharqa Humanitarian Crossing Point as part of the lice and scabies outbreak response campaign that is held by SARC’s health care, psycho-social support and hygiene promotion teams
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Homs Branch distributed 225 carpets to the families in the temporary shelters. The carpets were offered by the UNHCR.
The Child Protection team of SARC’s Ikrema point paid a visit to the school that witnessed recently painful explosions in Ikrema area in Homs. The team carried out psycho-social and educational entertainments that aimed to eliminate the children’s negative feelings and sufferings. It is worth mentioning that these activities came in the frame work of the Humanitarian Support joint project between the SARC and UNHCR.
