In order to provide the people of Sahwat Al-Khudr village with safe drinking water, the water and sanitation team installed three new water tanks provided by ICRC, in several places in the village with the capacity of 25 barrels for each, with the help of Sahwat Al-Khudr sub-branch’s volunteers to set the convenient locations for the water tanks.
The first well in Alkafer Town is put actively in service that would alleviate residents’ suffering of water scarcity and the costs of attaining water supply, providing 15 thousand people with drinking water.The well was equipped by the water and sanitation team at SARC-Swaida Branch, supported by ICRC and in cooperation with Swaida Water Establishment. In coordination with Water Institution and supported by ICRC, SARC Water and Sanitation team in Swaida launched a project of power line install with length of 24 kilometers on Nov 1st 201. The project is dedicated to activate the wells in Khazmah area with electricity power with beneficiaries of 73700 people all over Salkhad area at the southern rural of Swaida.
Water and Sanitation team of SARC– Swaida Branch responded to water shortage crisis in the rural of Swaida (Salakhed, Altha’lah, Dama , Aldweri, Ta’ara and Shakka). Supported by ICRC, the team replaced eight submersible water pumps in those villages and restored some of the water wells with (pull pipes – cables for the pumps) in order to provide Swaida and its rural with safe drinking water.
Water and Sanitation team of Syrian Arab Red Crescent received water pump and engine in addition to chlorine injection pump on Monday 28/11/2016. These materials are provided by the International Committee of Red Cross to serve Mamdouh Abaza Hospital’s well in Quneitra.
