PSS Team in SARC Lattakia Branch in cooperation with TDH organized vocational training activities for 114 women at Burj Islam School in Lattakia countryside. The activities included handcraft training that enable them to make some nice pieces of wax and soap, wool and accessories that could be used domestically. The training was concluded with an exhibition set up of these products on 16-2-2017 where bags full of raw materials distributed to the participants.
SARC Rural Damascus Branch teams exert their best effort to reach the affected areas and manage to support thousands of people there with lifesaving needs and services. Within this framework, the reproductive health project team in cooperation with UNFPA and in coordination with SARC Al Qoutaifa Sub Branch, organized 2 days campaign in Al Thanaya area to provide various services to the people there. First aid squads of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent escorted the charitable marathon which took place in Dummar – Damascus. SARC’s volunteers provided first aid services for 11 participants who had got injuries during the race. It is worth mentioning that the marathon profits would be donated to people with special needs.
In the framework of the Bread Project, the Disaster Response Unit in SARC- Damascus branch keeps on delivering fresh bread to the affected people in Yalda, Babbil and Beit Sahm areas. On April 12th 2015, the volunteers started on delivering 12000 bread bags- enough for 62700 person- on daily basis to the mentioned areas. This response comes in cooperation with SARC -HQ and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Damascus and United Nations OCHA . The bread quantities are delivered to the local committees that represents all concerned parties in order to be distributed.
