PSS Team in SARC Lattakia Branch in cooperation with TDH organized vocational training activities for 114 women at Burj Islam School in Lattakia countryside. The activities included handcraft training that enable them to make some nice pieces of wax and soap, wool and accessories that could be used domestically. The training was concluded with an exhibition set up of these products on 16-2-2017 where bags full of raw materials distributed to the participants.
On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, the psycho-social support team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Lattakia branch organized a mission of various entertainment activities for children. The mission targeted more than 420 children on three days and in many schools in the governorate. The team played with the children and presented them with gifts at the end of each day. It is worth mentioning that the targeted children ages range between one year old to sixteen year old.
“Robust Return to School” was the title of the activity that held by volunteers of Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo branch’s Counseling Center for Psycho-social Support. The activity was held for children at Cilicia Kindergarten and aimed to encourage kids to study and motivate them to succeed and pass classes. This message was delivered to children through a puppet show talking about differences between laziness and success and also by performing interactive dances with targeted children.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Aleppo branch’s teams keep on exerting efforts to affected people all over Aleppo city. Within this framework, psycho-social support mobile teams, which are supported by UNICEF and Danish Refugee Counsel, crossed Bustan AlQasr – AlMasharqa Humanitarian Crossing Point to reach the eastern part of Aleppo city and hold a psycho-social support activity for children at Sakhr Hallak School in AlZebdiya. “Hazards: Definition and Types” Workshop for PSS Volunteers Counseling Center for Psychosocial Supports (Child Friendly Space) concluded the “Hazards: Definition and Types” workshop. The workshop, which is part of the SARC – UNICEF joint project, was targeted 63 volunteers of the mobile teams. It addressed types of hazards, hazards potential settings of occurrence, as well as tips and advice on how to respond to each hazard type. Hazards Workshop was presented in an interactive way to help effectively deliver the given information. Two-hour interactive games were included to each group of volunteers.
