SARC Sahnaya dispensary treated 26 thousand people and provided them with free medicine during the last five years, where 100 patients visit these clinics every day: (internal, gynecology and pediatric). The director of the dispensary clarified that most cases suffer seasonal and chronic diseases, while other cases require specialized centers such as amputation, skin burns and cardiovascular disease. Fatima( 9 years) waits the whole week to join her friends ( the psycho-social support volunteers ), who come each Monday, in Al Ghezlania Consulting Center and participate in their activities among more than 500 kids and teenagers. In the same time, 200 students from primary and secondary school certificates attend the center to get Maths, Physics, Chemistry and french language classes. IFRC supports this center working in cooperation between SARC and DRC.
A delegation from Danish Red Cross visited SARC Qatana Sub Branch on Monday 04/11/2016. The delegation consisted of medical advisors who started their visit in the health center to check the provided services. They also visited the warehouses to check storage and distribution processes and confirmed the importance of developing work methods. The tour ended by praising volunteers’ efforts and emphasize the importance of joint cooperation between SARC and Danish Red Cross.
About 1500 student, who live in 24 shelters in Damascus and the Rural Damascus area, will start schools with new bags. Sheltering teams of the Disaster Management Unit in Damascus branch distributed 1042 school bags provided by ICRC and 497 provided by DRC.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Aleppo branch’s teams keep on exerting efforts to affected people all over Aleppo city. Within this framework, psycho-social support mobile teams, which are supported by UNICEF and Danish Refugee Counsel, crossed Bustan AlQasr – AlMasharqa Humanitarian Crossing Point to reach the eastern part of Aleppo city and hold a psycho-social support activity for children at Sakhr Hallak School in AlZebdiya.
