Danish Red Cross paid a visit to Syrian Arab Red Crescent


A delegation from the Danish Red Cross (DRC) paid a briefing visit to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent organization (SARC) on 22- 29 Aug 2015. The visit aimed to have the delegation briefed on the cooperation process between DRC and SARC in fields of relief, health and psycho-social support, and the ability of more collaboration with SARC as it is the only effective and efficient working organization all over the country. Swedish Red Cross Visit to Syrian Arab Red Crescent


Swedish Red Cross delegation visited Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) on 18-20 Aug 2015. Dr. Abdulrahman Attar, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) welcomed the delegation at SARC headquarter where they discussed all means of cooperation between the two organization. He also stressed that it is necessary for the delegation to get and deliver a realistic overview to the situation, needs and exerted efforts. The delegation toured around SARC-Al-zahera Center, Al-Dwellah Medical & consultation Center and SARC- Rural Damascus branch.  


On the World Humanitarian Day Dr. Attar: “Being committed to neutrality and independency mark us as trustworthy and allow us to reach most of the Syrian territories”.


On the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day, Aug 19th, 2015, and in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the Office for the Coordination of the Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) organized an activity in Damascus Opera House. SARC & WHO signed a Mutual Cooperation Agreement


In accordance to the mutual cooperation framework between Syrian Arab Red Crescent and World Health Organization, a mutual cooperation agreement was signed in sectors of primary, secondary and tertiary health care. The agreement was signed by both, Dr. Abdulrahman Attar, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and Ms. Elizabeth Hoff, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Syria. Dr. Abdulrahman Attar Received UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs


Dr. Abdulrahman Attar, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), received Mr. Stephen O’Brien, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, and Mr. Yacoub El Hillo, UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Syria and the accompanied delegation in SARC’s Al-Zahera Center on Aug 16th, 2015.
