Supported by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and in cooperation with UNICEF, The Syrian Arab Red Crescent held a workshop on Information Management (IM) and Reporting. The four day workshop started on July 29th, 2015 and brought 24 employees and volunteers from all fourteen SARC branches in Syria. The workshop is highly important for IM staff capacity building as it empowers them in areas of reports editing, data analysis and visualization and in presenting it in a professional way. SARC Frist Aid Team of rural Damascus managed to evacuate a lady with her three new born babies from Al-Mouadamieh town to Dar Al-Twleed hospital in Damascus on July 27th 2015. The women and her babies were in need to be under professional medical observation which is available only in hospitals. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent would thank all parties who facilitated the mission and highly appreciate the efforts exerted by the hospital’s managements and staff which helped saving the lady and her children’s lives.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent and in cooperation with Ministry of Health and World Health Organization delivered two trucks, loaded with medical items, to the Eastern Ghota area on July 23rd 2015. The medical items consisted of dialysis materials for 500 sessions, routine vaccines, 2000 insulin vial, four diabetes testing devices, 7600 baby milk, 4000 notorious biscuit, 3600 peanut butter, 3040 antibiotic and 1500 intestinal antiseptic. All mentioned items were handed out to SARC sub-branch in Duma city.
Under the motto “Our Principles, Our Move”, The Mediterranean Conference of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent Societies was held in San Marino Republic. The conference, which brought 26 national societies together, took place on May 25th 2015. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent delegation and under the presidency of Dr. Abdul Rahman Attar, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, attended the conference.
