Disaster Management Advanced Training Course for SARC Volunteers


Within a new forward move in training and rehabilitating field, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent organized an advanced training course titling “Disaster Management” on 14- 17/12/2014, in Damascus. The course which, brought together 37 volunteers from all the SARC’s branches in the Syrian governorates, is the first of its kind within the crisis since it addressed various subjects as evaluation, registration, distribution, operation room management, logistics, securing water in cases of emergency, communication skills, leadership skills, coordination, human resources management and information and reports management. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent General Assembly Meeting


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent held its General Assembly Meeting on Sat, Dec 20th, 2014. SARC’s General Assembly is composed of the branches’ management board members who 75% of them attended the meeting. The meeting discussed the following points: –       Ratification of the administrative reports of 2011, 2012, 2013. –       Ratification of the final budgets of 2011, 2012, 2013. –       Briefed on The auditor’s report. –       Appointing an auditor for 2014. –       Discharge of the member of the organization’s assembly of their liabilities for 2011, 2012, 2013. WFP GIFTS SARC WITH TRUCKS AND PROTECTIVE GEAR FOR VOLUNTEERS


27 October 2014 DAMASCUS – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) handed over to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) this week a donation of 15 trucks, 2 four-wheel drive vehicles and 23 protective jackets and helmets to enhance the capacity of volunteers to continue to carry out their work of delivering humanitarian assistance across Syria. This is the second time that WFP has provided SARC with logistics support, which now totals over US$4 million. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent receives a donation from UNHCR


Damascus – 23-9-2014 The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) received 10 tractors and mutli-purpose trailers, two employees’ buses, and two cars as a donation from the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support its humanitarian and relief mission in Syria. The SARC’s president Dr. Abdul-Rahman  Attar emphasized on the importance of this donation in helping the organization’s branches on the Syrian territories to provide services to people who have been affected by the crisis and those who are in need.
