Damascus , 17 February 2016 In cooperation with UN offices in Syria, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent(SARC) delivered relief aid (food & medicines) to five hard to reach areas: Madaya ,Zabadani and Moadamiya In Rural Damascus And Kefraya and Foua In Rural Idleb. About 115 trucks loaded with food parcels, flour, nutritious items, date biscuit, peanut butter and medicines 18 Trucks headed to Foua & Kefraya, while 65 Trucks headed to Madaya & Zabadani and 32 to Moadamiya. Syrian Arab Red Crescent delivered relief aid (food and medical items) to hard to reach areas in Deir Ezzour city on Wednesday, February 14, 2016. The items included 2850 food parcel (cans, palm, olive oil, pasta and thyme) supported by ICRC. Moreover, SARC managed to deliver first aid equipment and medicines that supported by IFRC. The items will be distributed in accordance to beneficiaries lists.
While they were carrying out their duty in evacuating four humanitarian cases, The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) cars came under fire despite of coordination with all parties on ground on Tuesday 9 February 2016. However, SARC team continued on its mission and was able to evacuate the cases and deliver them to the specialized hospitals in Damascus. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent(SARC) –Aleppo Branch managed to deliver humanitarian relief aid to Nubl and Al-Zahra towns in rural Aleppo on 7-8/02/2016. The mentioned relief aid, which is supported by IFRC, ICRC, WHO and PU, included medical items, medicines, food parcels, hygiene kits and children clothes. About 5300 family in Nubl and 3200 family in Al-Zahra are to be benefited from these relief aids.
Water Project of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent held its annual meeting on 17-21/1/2016. The meeting is organized to review the project’s works, set out a structural development plan, discuss all faced obstacles and difficulties and find out suitable solutions and to have all water teams all over SARC branches introduced to SARC’s departments, who one by one introduced a short briefing to their departments.
