Operational update- Tartous branch- July2016


Headlines: 36052 Family benefited from the relief services during  July 2016. 1889 people had been served by the mobile clinic. Registration: The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Tartous branch registration team added the recently  affected families as the number of families registered reached to 63,040 families. Relief: Relief teams  worked to cover most of the needs of the affected people in the main center and its sub- branches. They managed to distribute 36,052 food baskets 4786 hygiene basket 246, winter clothing and other relief material, which benefited approximately 36,052 families during the month. Concluding two Courses on First Aid Principles for Al-Ihsan Charity’s Volunteers


SARC – Aleppo continues training volunteers and the local community on principles of first aid. Yesterday, the first aid committee concluded the second first aid course for Al-Ihsan Charity. The two courses targeted 37 volunteers. Each course discussed main subjects such as characteristics of first aider, handling wounds, bleedings, fractures and burns, proper acting steps, artificial respiration and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as well as giving a summary on the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.


Psychosocial Support Training Course on Children Resilience Program


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) – Psychosocial Support Team (PSS) launched a training course titled “Children Resilience Program” on July 22nd 2016. The seven days course is supported by International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The course is aimed to build capacities of 23 PSS volunteers on practical applications of the children resilience manual, which is translated and amended by SARC. It is worth to mention that the manual is developed to target children over 10 years and who suffer tough circumstances. SARC Received 12 Ambulances Presented by the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation


The Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation supported The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) with 12 equipped ambulances on July 18, 2016. SARC is to Support the Most Affected Rural Families


Dr. Abdulrahman Attar, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), and the accompanied delegation made a visit to Mr. Mohammed Al-Qadiri, Minister of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform on Jul 27th, 2016. The two parties assured the importance of the cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform and SARC in order to support the crisis affected families in rural areas in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent and the local societies.
