SARC Homs sheltering team along with disaster management committee organised an event for mothers’ honoring in Al Waer collective shelters. Guests from AOUN for Relief and Development Society. The event , which was attended by 172 women, shed light to the woman role in the educational aspects. Various activities were done during the event like competitions, singing traditional song “Sit AlHabaib”, and gifts presented the mothers.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent-Quneitra Branch arranged a special event to honor the mothers in Khan Arnabeh sheltering centre. The event was launched on 30th March 2015 and attended by SARC’s Quneitra management and volunteers of Khan Arnabeh kindergarten. The event contained handmade works by mothers in Khan Arnabe shelter, group games, face painting and dancing with more than 210 child. Syrian Arab Red Crescent Quneitra branch manager highlighted the importance of these activities and encouraged mothers to produce such handwork to be an income and ease their suffering. The event was concluded with honoring mothers and presented them with gifts .
In the framework of livelihood improvement project, British Red Cross delegation paid a visit to SARC’s- Homs Branch on March 25th 2015. The delegation was composed of Mr. Azeem Nourani, Food Security & Livelihoods delegate and Dr. Hosam Faysal, the Syrian Crisis Program Manager. The visit was aimed to improve the beneficiaries’ livelihood projects, which have a major role in upgrading benefitted families to be actively working ones with real income. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Quneitra branch relief team in Al Boteha sub branch carried out distributing relief materials to the displaced people in Alwafdeen camp and the sheltering centers there (boteha 1, boteha2, mehanya). They provided food and health parcels for more than 2300 families in March . The Relief team in Alboteha sub branch is committed to main principles of Syrian Arab Red Crescent in fulfilling their humanitarian duty.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo branch’s sheltering team rehabilitated unfinished buildings in AlHamdaniya area. The carried out works were done using shelter kits and installing family rooms, windows, water circles, doors and fences. The number of beneficiaries reached 50 families including 250 individuals. This project was conducted after assessing the buildings and putting geometric schemes to each building.
