SARC Akramah Point Assessed Needs on Eid Al-Fitr


On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, SARC-Homs Akrama point team along with the management distributed food parcels to the affected families and toys to the children who live in wretched tinny  houses in Al-Phosphate area and in the countryside of Ashira and Karam El-Looz. The team also made assessment to their needs.

On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, the psycho-social support team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Lattakia branch organized a mission of various entertainment activities for children. The mission targeted more than 420 children on three days and in many schools in the governorate. The team played with the children and presented them with gifts at the end of each day. It is worth mentioning that the targeted children ages range between one year old to sixteen year old.


Delivering Electricity Generator to Abaza Hospital in Quneitra


Syrian Arab Red Crescent Quneitra branch delivered an electricity  generator of 500 K.V.A capacity to Abaza hospital , The generator is provided by the International Committee of Red Cross. Dr. Joumaa Hasan, president of SARC’s Quneitra branch appreciated the joint cooperation with Abaza’s staff to support their medical work, where it’s consider as the only active hospital in the governorate.


Disaster management principles courses in Quneitra


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent Quneitra branch finished two training courses in Disaster Management principles. The first one took place at SARC’s Quneitra main center between 19-24 May 2015, with 30 volunteers attending. The second one took place  in Al Boteha sub-branch between 26-30 May 2015, with 35 volunteers attending. The course contained lectures on the disaster preparedness, Relief, Assessment, Registering, Sheltering, Search and Rescue, Evacuation and Safer Access. SARC’s Quneitra branch organize these courses to qualify volunteers who would like to work in the humanitarian field.
