Upgrading Telecommunications System in SARC, Hama Branch


The Syrian Arab Red Crescnet Telecom team with a support by the ICRC has finished working on upgrading SARC’s, Hama branch, Telecommunications system. A 15-meter aerial tower installed and three VHF stations were added to the branch’s vehicles. Eng. Abdullah Al-Bunni, Telecommunications coordinator in Damascus headquarter pointed out that the aerial tower was executed with the expertise of the Telecommunications team in the SARC HQ with the help of the volunteers in Hama branch. Delivering Aid and Holding Several Meetings in Eastern Aleppo

A joint team of Syrian Arab ‪‎Red Crescent – Aleppo branch and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees delivered shipments of‪ ‎humanitarian aid to eastern neighborhoods of ‪‎Aleppo city. This was carried out by collaboration of ‪‎UNHCR delegation in Syria,  SARC’s Aleppo branch director and some board members along with the efforts of 42 volunteers passing through Bustan AlQasr – AlMasharqa Humanitarian‪ Crossing Point and by using primitive means of transportation. Delivered aid included 15 hospital beds, several chronic medicines and pediatric syrups. These supplies, which are supported by UNHCR, will help meet the needs of 5000 to 6000 patients. In Hama, Kirnaz city receives aid for the first time after two years


On  February 14th,  2015 The Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Hama branch teams had an access to the town of Kirnaz in the northern rural areas of Hama for the first time since 2012. The teams provided sufficient food aid for 341 Internal Displaced People and affected families. “People in Kirnaz has suffered lack of the different life-sustaining resources through the crisis. They are in dire need for mattresses, blankets, sheets and food supplies”, said Abu-Mahmood, one of the residents in Kirnaz. Delivering Wheelchairs and Crutches


Despite the bad weather, SARC Aleppo health care and field intervention teams accompanied with an ICRC team delivered a collection of health equipment including wheelchairs and crutches to east part of Aleppo city. Yesterday, they also delivered the same kind of equipment to SARC sub-branch in AlSafira and Palestinian Red Crescent Society branch in Aleppo. This equipment will be distributed to the most vulnerable groups and play an important role in providing needed health aids to about 1000 patients.
