The mobile medical team in Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Tartous branch continues his field visits which covers 90% of the city These visits aimed to reduce the aggravation of malnutrition cases and provide the necessary assistance of nutrients like vitamins and peanut butter. In February 2017, the number of beneficiary reached to 917 families.
SARC health care team in Tartous branch provided health services to 2744 persons during Jun 2017 through their three mobile clinic, which provide free treatment and medicines. The clinics treated cases with chronic disease (pressure- diabetes), Infectious diseases (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, respiratory tract) and arthritis.
The psychosocial support team of Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Tartous branch carried out an awareness campaign in Matn Al-sahel’s school on Feb 14th, 2017. The campaign used animation brochures that highlight the importance of the daily dental care. At the end of the campaign, the 350 participant children were gifted with the mentioned brochures along with toothbrush and cleaning paste, which are supported by Terre des Hommes Italian organization.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Tartous & Lattakia in coordination with the Headquarters responded to sudden stop working chlorine gas sterilization devices in Ascinn station, which lead to stop pumping water. They managed to deliver eight sterilizers with chlorine gas (4 reserve- 4 working) introduced by the International Committee of the Red Cross to the mentioned station.
SARC PSS Team in Tartous branch recently has concluded a campaign that targeted 1850 students in schools of Hosen Al-Baher, Jditi and Al-Saeda villages. The campaign was launched on the 1st of September 2016 and goes on for the next three months. The team organized an open day titled “Birthday”, which includes several entertainments, activities and competitions. The “Birthday” open day is aimed to improving the children’s skills, self- exploration and dump all negative feelings. The team also distributed some gifts at the end of the open day.
