Relief team still responds in Al Wafedeen camp


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Quneitra branch relief team in Al Boteha sub branch carried out distributing relief materials to the displaced people in Alwafdeen camp and the sheltering centers there (boteha 1, boteha2, mehanya). They provided food and health parcels for more than 2300 families in March . The Relief team in Alboteha sub branch is committed to main principles of Syrian Arab Red Crescent in fulfilling their humanitarian duty.


Operational update – Quneitra branch February 2015


key figures The Syrian Arab Red Crescent Quneitra branch carried out various activities and services in February 2015. These services were delivered by the main branch and its sub-branches in Hadar and Al-Bteha areas. Highlights: 18000  family- 100800 person-  Benefited from Syrian Arab Red Crescent relief materials in Quneitra. There are more than 25 shelters distributed in Al Quneitra. However, SARC’s Quneitra branch supports 12 of them, while  the other 13 one are in unsafe areas and can’t be reached. “Hygiene Promotion” Campaign is launched in Quneitra


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent Quneitra branch launched “Hygiene Promotion” campaign that aimed to target children and mothers. The campaign is to raise awareness on healthy habits and adopted precautions to avoid infectious diseases. The campaign contains field visits to schools and shelters in: (Khan Arnebah, Alkoom, Jeba, Al Baath City, Al Mshaqaq). The team noticed cases of (Hepatitis, Scabies, Lice) therefore they applied the suitable actions that prevent the spread  of these diseases. Red Cross Red Crescent on Evaluation Mission in Quneitra


The Syria Arab Red Crescen Al-Qunetira Branch received a delegation from the   International Committee of the Red Cross on 17th  March 2015. The visit is aimed to evaluate the situation in the area. Therefore, the relief team carried out a comprehensive evaluation for the affected people and their needs. In the same time, the water and sanitation team accompanied the Water Institution engineers on their evaluation visit to Khan Arnabeh and Al-Koum area, where they monitor and estimate the capacity of the water pumps and wells that should cover all residents and displaced people there. Red Crescent volunteers discuss international humanitarian law


Syrian Arab Red Crescent Communication team has continued his activities in publishing  the principles of International Red Cross and Red Crescent and the basic principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), where the team finished a workshop in Quneitra which included a variety lectures on the principles of IHL, safe access for volunteers who works in the field of violence or conflict armed and correct use of the emblems of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. about 35 volunteers participated in the workshop and lectures were given by trainers from the branch.
