the Syrian Arab Red Crescent-Aleppo branch and via a qualified staff started training courses in various fields. Courses will go on for three months and will provide volunteers with information about many basic subjects such as principles of first aid, advanced first aid, disaster management, psycho-social support principles, international humanitarian low (IHL), community based health and first aid (CBHFA) and hygiene promotion. About 300 volunteers who have recently joined SARC – Aleppo branch will benefit from those courses and workshops since those training aim to promote competence and increase readiness of volunteers in different SARC teams.
Field intervention team at SARC’s Aleppo branch provided safe front-line crossing for humanitarian cases through Bustan Al-Qasr – Al-Masharqa Humanitarian Crossing Points. The team weekly escorts 60 humanitarian cases, 30 of which cross to receive the proper medical care, while the other 30 cross back after receiving the needed medical treatment. Date: April 10th, 2015
SARC’s-Hama branch launched various activities throughout January 2015. However, the most prominent services were the distribution of 56693 food parcels to displaced and affected families, and the installation of two 45000-litere Oxfam tanks in Maardes. Relief The Registration team registered full data for 340 affected and displaced people, while the assessment team continued evaluating the needs of the sheltering centers and houses of the affected and displaced families. They evaluation covered 300 families. Within the constant strained circumstances and the increasingly displacement movement from Bosra Al-Sham area to Sweida governorate, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Sweida Branch rushed to help all affected families there. The first aid and disaster management team distributed (470) food parcels, (1242) blankets, (1042) mattresses, and Kitchen and hygiene kits. The teams built more tent in Rassas village to shelter the evacuated families. SARC Homs sheltering team along with disaster management committee organised an event for mothers’ honoring in Al Waer collective shelters. Guests from AOUN for Relief and Development Society. The event , which was attended by 172 women, shed light to the woman role in the educational aspects. Various activities were done during the event like competitions, singing traditional song “Sit AlHabaib”, and gifts presented the mothers.
