Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo branch’s health care and field intervention teams delivered a batch of neurological and psychiatric medications to residents of Dar AlSafa’a Elderly Care Home in AlMashattiya, Old Aleppo. The delivered medications, which are supported by World Health Organization, through Bustan AlQasr – AlMAsharqa Humanitarian Crossing Points will help provide the needed medicines to 112 patients residing the home for more than 60 days.
Water and Sanitation team in SARC Lattakia branch in collaboration with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund cleaned the drainage of rain in Al-Madineh Al-Riadeeh. The cleaning process covered about 850 meters( which stopped its potential in Water discharge for over a year and half.) Also, after the completion of clean the drainage of rain,The team also closed all the rain leakage nozzles that prevent dirt accumulation.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo branch’s Hygiene promotion team continues carrying out awareness activities to several community segments in different areas in Aleppo. Recently, and after the needed assessment, the team responded to mothers’ request and held activities in Rahmo Hattab School about gynecological infections. At the end of the activity, the team distributed hygiene items to every woman so they can apply the given instructions. Date: March 25th, 2015
Due to the efforts exerted by the humanitarian field intervention in Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo branch an Algerian family safely crossed front-lines to reach their embassy in Damascus and fly back home afterwards. The Algerian Embassy in Damascus sent a thank you letter in which they appreciated to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent efforts. Last week, field intervention team in SARC – Aleppo escorted an Algerian family including 5 members through Bustan AlQasr – AlMasharqa Humanitarian Crossing Points, and put them on their way to Damascus where they could reach the Algerian Embassy.
Given the outbreak of lice infectiousness and aimed to put limitations to its spread among people, the hygiene promotion team in Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo branch held raise awareness sessions. The session targeted 22 internally displaced mothers in Rahmo Hattab School. Various aspects were lightened during the sessions as: means of infection, the carrying insect, treatment and precautions procedures. SARC’s volunteers distributed Lice shampoo to the attendees.
