In the framework of Sub- Branches Support project which based between Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the supporting organizations, a delegation from British Red Cross visited Jableh sub-branch in Lattakia governorate. The delegation, who consisted of Ms. Razmi Farouk and Dr .Houssam Al-faisal, was accompanied with Mr. Hussein Hammoud, SARC-HQ project coordinator. During the visit, they cast an eye to the services and activities provided in the mentioned sub-branch and the distribution point there. They also met with the board of directors and the active volunteers, and discussed means of support as well as needs and requirements.
Water and sanitation team of SARC Lattakia branch delivered a new electricity generator with a capacity 300KVA for the first automatic bakery as the old one went out of work . The first automatic bakery works 24 /6, with a production capacity of more than 27 tons per day, and with beneficiaries of 100,000 #person a day. the generator set is provided by the International Committee of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Relief team of SARC- Lattakia branch distributed 1400 canned food parcels in Sport City shelter on Sep 7th 2015. The canned food supported by ICRC contained beans, hommos, pasta, mixed vegetables, zataar, olive oil, tuna and dates). The missions of distribution done by relief team in SARC Lattakia regularly in shelters all over Lattakia.
On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, the psycho-social support team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Lattakia branch organized a mission of various entertainment activities for children. The mission targeted more than 420 children on three days and in many schools in the governorate. The team played with the children and presented them with gifts at the end of each day. It is worth mentioning that the targeted children ages range between one year old to sixteen year old.
Within its plan for the rehabilitation and training of volunteer staff on the principles of first aid, The Committee of First Aid in the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Lattakia branch worked during June on training 72 volunteers on the principles of first aid through three Training courses, two of them in (Jablah and AL-haffa sub branches) and a training course in the headquarters of the Organization branch in Lattakia.
