National Vaccination Campaign program

 The National Vaccination Campaign program  Feb 2015 covered  ‪SARC- Homs‬ dispensary in Alghouta area. The campaign is launched to avoid the babies some serious diseases like the polio. The campaign’s total  beneficiaries was 1622 child including 275 baby who were under one-year.

Reconstruction Project to harbor 120 families in Hisyah

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent Sheltering teams in Homs branch carried out a project of reconstructions and shelters rehabilitation in Hisyah industrial city. The project aimed to improving shelters and wooden rooms in order to help 120 affected families, who reside in uninhabitable shelters. It is worth noting that the project was supported by International Organization of Immigration (IOM) which offered 100 shelter kits. The mentioned kits contain: carpentry box, planks, MDF planks, wooden partitions, insulators, curtains and other items. [/g_slider]

Garbage disposal project finished in Talbissah-Homs

At the end of December, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Talbissah sub-branch with a support from th International Committe of the Red Cross  started its garbage disposal project in order to stop the spreading of diseases and to protect the civilization. The project continues for 40 days. 1500 cubic meter were shifted to the litter bin which is 14 kilo meters far from Talbissah to Assaen.  

The ICRC Head of Delegation in a visit to SARC’s branch in Homs

On 2nd of Feb 2015,  the Syrian Arab Red Crescent  Homs branch president Dr. Motaz Al Atassi received the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation to Syria Marianne Gasser During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the last developments on the ground in health and relief services. The delegation visited the central operation room, first aid center, medical clinics, dispensary, gynecological and obstetrics hospital, and disaster management center. Relief Team showed high preparedness and local community participated in “Let’s Help” initiative in snowy weather:

preparedness and responded to help the most affected people in Al Qusair, Hasya, and Deir Ba’alba. Families had nothing to prevent themselves from the cold weather and snow. The team distributed extra blankets, tarpaulins, and sleeping mats, in addition to 10 thousand winter clothes cartoons and 4600 blankets for children from UNICEF in Hasya and Deir Baalba. The storm also affected the city, volunteers launched “let’s Help” initiative to collect used clothes and then distribute them to affected families.
