On 26 Sep 2015, 12 trucks convoy loaded with food items were entered to Babila-Yalda-Beit Sahm areas by DMU teams of SARC’S Damascus Branch. The food items are supported by WFP.
The Disaster Management Unit (DMU) of SARC’ Damascus branch and in cooperation with international Medical Corps distributed clothes, sanitary towel and diapers for about 7400 person in 24 shelters inside Damascus and Rural Damascus.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent teams of Damascus Branch and in cooperation with the Relief Sub-committee organized entertainment activities and sports games for children in the Governorate Club. These activities were launched in 22 sheltering centers on the occassion of Eid Al-Addha, and included interactive games that participated by 250 child for four days.
About 1500 student, who live in 24 shelters in Damascus and the Rural Damascus area, will start schools with new bags. Sheltering teams of the Disaster Management Unit in Damascus branch distributed 1042 school bags provided by ICRC and 497 provided by DRC.
First aid squads of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent escorted the charitable marathon which took place in Dummar – Damascus. SARC’s volunteers provided first aid services for 11 participants who had got injuries during the race. It is worth mentioning that the marathon profits would be donated to people with special needs.
