Water & Sanitation Team SARC- Swaida Branch in cooperation with local community water institution and supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross installed a new water pipeline (22000 meters) in length and (160 millimeters) in diameter to ensure the access of safe drinking water in sufficient quantities to the people in Al-Kafer Town and to avoid the wastage and leakage problem as a result of the old decomposed water pumping system there. The project began on the first of this month and is scheduled to be implement within 60 days..
Within the constant strained circumstances and the increasingly displacement movement from Bosra Al-Sham area to Sweida governorate, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Sweida Branch rushed to help all affected families there. The first aid and disaster management team distributed (470) food parcels, (1242) blankets, (1042) mattresses, and Kitchen and hygiene kits. Based on the results of the assessment team in Mafaaleh Village, ( food parcels, hygiene kits, kitchen sets, mattresses, blankets mats, baby diapers , adults nappies, candles and newborn kits were distributed to 41 families. Moreover, the Mobile Health Units (MHU) accompanied the distribution team and provided medical consultations for 70 cases. We affirm that we continue to provide humanitarian aid, relief pain and suffering is our constant aim.
In the early morning on Monday 13/1/2014, the phone rang announcing a new mission to SARC’s first aiders. The mission was to transport a pregnant woman in delivery situation to the hospital amongst the harsh snowy storm that blocked the streets. The team immediately rushed into the car, arrived their destination and got the woman carefully into the car. However, the baby was in a greater hurry than the team, and was delivered in car. Five first aid squads from SARC Swaidaa branch responded to the last events took place in Dama and Deir Dama in northern western rural Swaidaa governorate. On a course of two days 16/19of August, 2014 they provided first aid services for 23 injureis and transferred nine cases to “Watani” hospital in Swaidaa.
