SARC dispatched a humanitarian aid truck to approximately 650 families; most of them are women and children, in Roge and Nayrouz camps in Al-Malkieh town located to the extreme north-east of Syria, in 1/11/2018. SARC volunteers distributed the delivered aid (640 canned-food parcels, 640 hygiene kits and 160 boxes of baby diapers provided by ICRC) with attendance of a delegation headed by Marianne Gasser, the ICRC’s head of delegation in Syria, and Mr. Ali Mansour, Head of SARC branch in Hassakeh.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers in Hassakeh carried out an emergency response in Al-Meridian neighborhood for the population affected by Al-Khabour River floods, which resulted from the heavy rainfall two days ago and caused material damages and loss in livestock. The relief team conducted the needed assessment and registration, while other teams distributed 130 food parcels provided by the ICRC. SARC’s first aid squads participated also in the response. It is worth mentioning that Al-Meridian neighborhood is vulnerable to flooding because the houses are so close to the river
Through Similka border checkpoint, Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) facilitated a process of transport and delivery of a wheat grinder machine to Al-Hassakeh flour mill. This machine is considered the essential part of the flour production line. It will increase the flour production to satisfy the needs of 60,000 beneficiaries in the city and rural around. These services are carried out by SARC’S Water and Housing teams in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
SARC Water & Sanitation team in cooperation with ICRC and in coordination with Water Establishment in Al-Hasakeh delivered 2 water sterilization units and 8 Generators to Water Establishment in Al-Hasakeh governorate on 04/01/2017. The units are to sterilize Al-Himmeh and Assfan water stations in order to provide more than 600.000 beneficiaries with safe water, while the generators will provide basic water and sanitations services to more than 140.000 beneficiaries in Al-Nirouz Camp, The National Hospital, Al-Qahtanieh, Ra’as Al-Ein, Makhroum and the technical services department in Al-Qamishly area.
Water team of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in Al-Hasakeh carried out an urgent response in which they maintained and repaired the basic water pipeline in Al-Hasakeh in cooperation with Water Institution there. Throughout three days of intensive work ( 24-26 /8/2016), the team managed to replace the damaged parts with new one so that the water could be pumped again and reached beneficiaries total to 80.000 people.
