Principles In Disasters Management Course


At the conclusion of the “principles in disasters management” course on 07-11-2018, the trainers presented a full training scenario to give 29 volunteers the chance to know how to respond to different emergencies, and how to deal with them, in order to let them apply the information they received during five days of training in how to respond to disasters according to the disaster phases and its nature, in addition, to providing shelter, food, and water during disasters to alleviate humanitarian suffering. Contemporary eCBHFA in a workshop


As the Syrian Arab Red Crescent works on integrating the community-based health and first aid program among its various departments in order to promote the new community health culture, it launched a training workshop about the (eCBHFA ) on 4-8/11/2018. The workshop, supported by IFRC and Finish Red Cross, was carried out by 3 trainers and participated by 24 people, who acquired necessary information and skills for the implementation of “the behavior change at the community level” module, and developed effective health promotion key messages that would activate the program among the work plans.


Sphere Project’s TOT had their information refreshed in a workshop


In the line of keeping Sphere’s TOT updated on the new information and skills, SARC held a workshop that covered the most important topics added in the latest edition of Sphere Project Handbook 2018 on 4-8/11/2018. During the workshop, supported by the British Red Cross, the participants (14 trainers) have exchanged experiences and modified the training materials used in the Sphere project in order to adapt the response all over Syria. “Life seems more beautiful through my camera lens”


His glittering eyes and broad smile hide the strong determination of Mohamed (9 y) to be a professional photographer in the future. SARC teams met him and his family in Mohamed Ali Braidy shelter in Hama during a mission of distributing winter items for 314 families there.  They have watched him carrying his camera, observing people and scenes through a lens and asking his friends to smile before taking a photo. BRC delegation paid a visit to SARC


Eng. Khaled Hboubati, President of SARC, and SARC’s senior management welcomed Mr. Michael Adamson, British Red Cross Chief Executive, Alexander Matheou International Director at BRC, and the accompanied delegation in a meeting held at SARC-HQ on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. The meeting aimed to discuss ways of cooperation between the two national societies in order to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable people all over Syria.
