Awareness Sessions on Leishmaniasis

Health Awareness Promotion Program, Water and Construction Department of SARC – Aleppo Branch organized awareness sessions about leishmaniasis disease for 60 beneficiaries women in Al-Fardos area. During the sessions, volunteers explained causes of illness, ways of infection and ways of protection and presented the attendances with mosquito nets provided by ICRC.

It was a kind of destiny for Lylas (10 years)  to lose her finger and get a tendon cutting in the right hand two years ago. However, she insisted to overcome this handicap and draw her future through engaging two-months treatment in the Syrian Arab Red Crescent physical therapy center. “My left hand did not allow me to present special drawings like the right hand,” she said during her therapy session at the center. “Be Optimistic” activity for children with cancer

“Be optimistic you deserve life” a new step conducted by thirty young women to give children with cancer some energy and love. This activity came at the end of life skills program that presented by Al-Shahbaa mobile community center of Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Aleppo Branch. Through psychosocial support activity, the young women have tried to draw a smile on children’s faces and help them to fight pain and revive hope.

1st “Disaster Management” course in 2018 is carried out

In the framework of the plan of building volunteers’ capacities, SARC – Aleppo supported by the British Red Cross concluded a course on principles of disaster response and readiness. Twenty-two volunteers from different operating teams participated in the course. They were educated and trained on several important topics, such as the international standards of disaster management, danger analysis, water and sanitation, food security and health in emergencies in addition to many other related topics.

Safe Water for 15.000 Persons in Fafin

15,000 people in Fafin village in the northern countryside of Aleppo will have access to safe water after SARC – Aleppo branch Water and Construction team has completed the rehabilitation of a well in the village, in response to the displaced people of Afrin, the works involved processing and installation of all necessary tools of a pump, generator and pipes, in collaboration with ICRC. The well will cater to the needs of several areas (Fafin camp, Tal-Qrah Camp, Afrin Camp, Fafin village, Halisa, Halisa Farms, Al-Aloushya, Al-Ahdas, Maaret Al-Muslamya).
