Voluntary Work in the Eyes of Kids

On International Volunteer Day (IVD), Seventy children experienced what it feels like to help people in need through the interactive theater activity held by volunteers of Al-Shahba Community Center. During the activity, the children were briefed on the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the humanitarian role of its operating teams. Children also played roles of volunteers giving aid to vulnerable people in compliance with SARC principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and voluntary service.

Three humanitarian convoys enter hard-to-reach areas in Syria since the beginning of March 2018

Damascus, March 9th 2018 Aligned with its plan to deliver urgent relief aids to hard-to-reach areas, Syrian Arab Red Crescent has succeeded in entering 3 humanitarian convoys containing lifesaving food and non-food items (medicines, medical supplies, baby milk, and water and sanitation items) to Afrin, Ad-Dar Al-Kabeera in Northern rural Homs, and Eastern Ghouta in collaboration with its humanitarian partners ICRC and UN. distributing relief items in Sednaya

Five years ago, Um Hasan left her home in Al Hasake but she couldn’t find a work to take care and support her three children and her sick husband. “I have never settled in a house for more than six months” she told Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers, who were assessing the needs of those families in all Rural Damascus areas in order to help them face the bad situation as they live in unfinished buildings.
