SARC Homs DMU held a course on Disaster Management Principles in SARC Baniyas Camp for Youths with participation of 53 volunteers from SARC sub-branches and points. The course involved topics of disaster management principles according curriculum issued by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC). This course aimed to reinforce the volunteers’ ability to be always ready to give a hand to affected people.
Today, Muhammad is able to walk again and manage all his things himself thanks to SARC Artificial Limbs Center in Damascus where he got an artificial lower limb attached in . Also he received physical therapy at SARC Homs branch Rehabilitation Center which is supported by Terre des Hommes.
SARC Homs branch in cooperation with ICRC and UN Offices delivered 45 trucks of humanitarian aids to SARC-Homs sub-branch in Talbisah on 15th June. The aid convoy contained food and non-food items which meet the needs of 84000 PPL in Talbisah for a month.
SARC psychological support team in Harasta organized an open day event for the kids on May 26, 2017 . The team distributed high energy biscuits provided by WFP for 600 kids there.
For the first time, SARC teams visit Al Shwaka area near Darya in Rural Damascus to distribute clothes for the families there. SARC psychosocial support team provided 200 kids and 80 men with clothes and 80 women with clothes and bags. It’s worth to mention that the clothes are provided by UNICEF.
