SARC- HQ in cooperation with SARC-Rural Damascus branch and the Directorate of Extension Units in the Ministry of Social Affairs and supported by the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent Societies concluded the carpet handmade vocational training program, which was launched by the livelihood teams in Al-Qoutaifah and Mouadamet Al-Qalamoun areas in Rural Damascus. SARC- Disaster management unite in Damascus distributed humanitarian relief aid to approximately 530 displaced families in Damascus city during February 2017. The relief items contained food and non-food items (hygiene kits, kitchen kits, mattresses, blankets, tarpaulins and children winter clothes). It is worth to mention that the previous items were supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC), German Red Cross (GRC), the Danish Refugees Council (DRC), UNHCR and the UNICEF.

SARC Livelihood team jointly with ICRC delegation paid a visit to Qara village in Rural Damascus on 19 February. The visit aimed to evaluate the wheat seeds project which was launched in cooperation with SARC Qara sub branch, and an assessment to farmers’ needs. It’s worth to mention that Livelihood project helps 1700 families in Rural Damascus areas.
