Awareness campaign on Dental Health in Tartous


The psychosocial support team of Syrian Arab Red Crescent- Tartous branch carried out an awareness campaign  in Matn Al-sahel’s school on Feb 14th, 2017. The campaign used animation brochures that highlight the importance of the daily dental care. At the end of the campaign, the 350 participant children were gifted with the mentioned brochures along with toothbrush and cleaning paste, which are supported by Terre des Hommes Italian organization.  


Livlihoods Team in SARC Swaida Launched The First Developmental Project


In order to improve livelihoods for the affected families, the livelihoods team at SARC – Swaida Branch launched their first developmental project through  distributing  chickpea seeds and fertilizer in 7 villages in Swaida Governorate so far (Al Mazraa – Al Mashqouq – Al Thaala – Mafa’aleh – Al A’afineh – Ira and Al Mjemir )with beneficiaries of 951 families. The team will continue on working to support more farmers in other villages and areas till the end of planting season this year. SARC & WFP airdrop No 200 marked a delivery more than 3500 tons of Humanitarian aid to Deir Ezzour


More than 3500 tons of humanitarian aid reached to approximately 100.000 persons in Deir Ezzour city as SARC and WFP had the airdrop operation No 200 successfully done on 6/3/2017. The mentioned airdrops deliveries started to reach the city on 10/4/2016 where SARC- Deir Ezzour branch managed collection and distribution operation in coordination with the Relief sub-committee there. These humanitarian aid supported by the WFP contained rice, beans, lentil, crushed wheat, hummus, sugar, salt, cooking oil and bread yeast. SARC Concluded “Carpet Handmade Vocational Training” Programme


SARC- HQ in cooperation with SARC-Rural Damascus branch and the Directorate of Extension Units in the Ministry of Social Affairs and supported by the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent Societies concluded the carpet handmade vocational training program, which was launched by the livelihood teams in Al-Qoutaifah and Mouadamet Al-Qalamoun areas in Rural Damascus. The programme was attended by 58 participant women who were presented with a vocational certificate and a loom as well as the needed raw material for one production cycle.
