Damascus / Beirut / Geneva, 4 February 2017 The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) mourns the loss of yet another Red Crescent volunteer in Syria, , with news of the death of Hazem Taysir Dawarh, following a road traffic accident in Sweida, southern Syria, due to ice on the road. In the early morning of Feb 1st 2017, the administrative offices of Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Idleb branch were damaged during an incident which affected the Carlton Hotel. SARC Idleb have offices inside the building. The President of the branch sustained light head injuries. His condition is stable. No other staff or volunteers from SARC were hurt. Teams of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) had their humanitarian role done in Wadi Barada, Rural Damascus, on 30/01/2017. The teams accompanied the convoy which transported 2129 persons from the mentioned area to Idleb city. 200 volunteers who work in SARC branches in Damascus, Rural Damascus, Homs, Hama, Tartous, Lattakia and Idleb participated in the mission in coordination with the Headquarters.
