The relief team related to the Disaster Management Unit – Damascus branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent launched a vaccination campaign (Polio – Tetanus – Vaccine routine) in coordination with the Ministry of Health in Barza area and Al-Kadam during the last week. The campaign targeted children with ages ranges between one day and 5 years and managed to vaccinate 1401 children. Also a mobile medical clinic accompanied the campaign in order to provide health care and medical services to patients. During the campaign, the clinic checked 357 patients and prescribed them with proper medicines.
The relief team related to the Disaster Management Unit – Damascus Branch of Syrian Arab Red Crescent started one week distribution process on Tuesday 10.18.2016. This process involved distributing relief items (food & hygiene parcels)provided by the IFRC and allocated for affected people in Hameh and Qudsaya area. the baskets are dedicated for 10,000 family.
30 trucks of humanitarian aid were entered to the Moadamieh area on 10/23/2016 by Disaster Management Unit – Damascus branch of Syrian Arab Red Crescent in a cooperation with the United Nations offices in Damascus. The trucks were loaded with food parcels, flour, hygiene kits, Winter clothing, Self-education set and medical materials. It is worth to mention that these mterials are dedicated to 7000 family.
Kinda Qaza, a SARC- Aleppo volunteer since 2003, said that the ideas that were presented in the workshop may not have been new but of great value and should be put in the hands of the SARC- Aleppo volunteers who were not aware of it. 25 SARC’s volunteers with strong background in disaster management, first aid and psychosocial support participated in a workshop on 25-26 October 2016. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross to set up unified and common concepts, to enrich the participants’ information about the International Humanitarian Law and the International Movement of the Red Cross Red Crescent and to introduce the different fields’ work of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).
